  ELISA STROZYK
THE JOURNEY OF CERAMIC TABLES
CERAMIC TABLES side tables
Elisa Strozyk
Elisa Strozyk shows her own interpretation of the traditional technique of glazing ceramics.

For her „ceramic tables“ she combines the stability of artificial ceramic stone with thin layers of liquid suspensions of metal oxides and powdered minerals which are transformed into a glass-like surface by the process of firing.
Different liquid glazes pool and mix together under the influence of rotation and blown air to leave traces of fluid movement and smoke-like patterns which are then solidified in the heat of the kiln.

For the „Wooden Textiles“ series which Elisa Strozyk created for Gestalten, she explores new patterns and colours of the flexible surface. Made from half wood, half textile, this plaid challenges what can be expected from a material or category.
