A TRANSFORMATION JOURNEY
THE PRESENCE OF ABSENCE- RAW & RUBY glass editions
by Milena Kling

Sudden discoveries in design processes require prompt imaginativeness to prospect their conceiled qualities.

searching for traces transformable into designed objects a blue tinted lump of glass found next to an iron splinter in a glass factories‘ furnace was the origin for a series of glass objects.

By replacing common wood moulds with perforated copper sheets and copper meshes the result unveils - and acquires form, coloring and ornamental function. strategic and artistic unfolding strengthen the at first arbitrary effect attaining a series of cultivated products.

mass produced moulds are beautifully balanced with the mouthblown manufacturing process maintaining individual attributes in the final product. left to see is the imprint of the delicate cast embodying a presence of the absence.
